On today’s episode of The Anacrusic Podcast, I’m with my friend, Jessica Grant, from the Afternoon Ti Podcast. Jessica is a fabulous general music teacher, who just so happens to teach general music in middle school. You better believe that she has all the tips on developing relationships and making magic happen inside of the middle school music room.
Jessica Grant is a middle school music educator in Dallas, Texas. She taught elementary music for fourteen years in public schools in Michigan and Texas before teaching grades 5-8 at a private school. She is certified Orff-Schulwerk, completed Kodály Level II this past summer with plans to complete Level III this upcoming summer, and has training in Dalcroze Eurythmics from the University of Maryland.
Jessica holds a Bachelor Degree in Music Education from Lee University, Cleveland, TN. She received her Masters Degree of Music in Music Education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.
She is currently the Co-Hospitality Chair for the North Texas Orff Association and was the Hospitality Chair for the 2018 National AOSA Conference in Dallas, Texas. She is a member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, the Organization of American Kodály Educators, American Recorder Society, and the Texas Music Educators Association.
