On today’s episode of The Anacrusic Podcast, I’m chatting with Alicia McCormick all about her first year as an elementary music teacher. Whether you are a first year teacher, a fifth year teacher, or have been teaching for many many years, I have no doubt that her optimism and excitement for teaching and getting intentional about what happens in the music classroom will inspire and motivate you.
Here is a little bit about Alicia in her own words:Hi, my name is Alicia McCormick and I am a music specialist at an elementary school in a suburb of Dallas, TX. Each day, I have the greatest opportunity, to make MUSIC with kids! I have recently finished my first year of teaching after graduating from TAMUC, where I studied with Darla Meek and Dr. Randy Hooper. I am relatively “new” to the Dallas area, I am a born and raised Houstonian (GO ‘STROS). I really enjoy cooking/baking, gym-time, singing, movies, spending time with my family and friends and learning new & fun ideas to incorporate into my music classroom!
