Today on the podcast I’m chatting with Cat Woo all about setting up your classroom for success. Even as we’re already a couple of weeks (or months!) into the school year, I know that this conversation with Cat will give you some amazing points to think about as you start getting into the groove of the new school year.
My name is Cat Woo and I am an Elementary Music Teacher in with Albuquerque Public Schools Fine Arts. I am certified in Orff-Schulwerk, Kodaly, World Music Drumming Level 2, Google Level 1, and am an Apple Certified Teacher. This past year, I served on the board of the New Mexico Chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association as the Past President. I am also at the University of New Mexico Music Prep School where I will be teaching the newborn & toddler classes this upcoming Fall. In the 2018-19 school year, I was recognized by my district for my work in the first Digital Innovator Program. In addition to my work in elementary music, I have also worked with high school marching bands in New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona, as well as the Battalion Drum & Bugle Corp in Utah. I play bass clarinet and live in Albuquerque with my 17-month-old daughter, husband, and two loving dogs.
