Today on the podcast, I’m chatting with Angela Staron about her experience as a music teacher teaching outside of the United States. Angela shares some great tips and thoughts for any music teachers who might be interested in living that adventurous lifestyle overseas, and share a few things that reminds us that no matter where we are, we all face the same joys and challenges as music teachers!

Hey, My name is Angela Mott! I have taught elementary music internationally for the past 6 years in Shanghai and Dubai!   In that time I’ve taught grades Prek-5 and completed my First Steps training, as well as, level 1 of Kodaly and Orff.Prior to moving internationally, I taught middle school band for 3 years in Iowa. Making the switch to elementary music wasn’t easy but I was thankful for other teachers to share ideas with and find my grove! Now I couldn’t imagine teaching band! I will be taking next year off to stay at home with my  daughter Dorothy!
