Today on The Anacrusic Podcast, I’m talking with Abby Pagryzinski all about life as a middle school choir director. Now, hold the phone, music teacher friends! Even if you don’t teach middle school (and Lord know, I don’t!) our conversation was full of tips and tricks that I KNOW you will find valuable and meaningful for your classroom. Abby and I chat about all the things, including selecting repertoire, programming concerts, structuring rehearsals, and how to click with those older kiddos.
Hi all! My name is Abby Pagryzinski and I teach Middle School Choir in Indianapolis, IN. I’m about to start my 6th year of teaching. Outside of teaching, I also sing in the Circle City Chamber Choir (C4) and I’m an alto section leader in my church choir. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for two years and we have 3 furbabies, Loki, Ruthie and Olive. I also serve as the Area 6 MS Coordinator of our state wide Circle the State with Song – I like to stay busy! 🙂 You can find me on Instagram, @singinginthemiddle. I love connecting with and learning from other choir directors and teachers!
